Commerce Pro is sold on geekybot.com. The plans are Commerce Pro - Single Site, Commerce Pro - 5 Sites and Commerce Pro - 25 Sites. They differ in how many sites the licence covers; every plan unlocks the same Commerce Pro add-on. For prices, see geekybot.com/pricing/.
Staging and development copies of a site don’t use one of the licence’s sites. The licence includes a separate allowance of staging sites, shown as Allowed staging sites under Technical details on the License screen.
Activate your licence and install Commerce Pro
Section titled “Activate your licence and install Commerce Pro”You need Geeky Bot 2.1.2 or later, WooCommerce, and the PHP OpenSSL or Sodium extension (see Requirements).
- Find your licence key in your account on geekybot.com. Keys are five groups of five characters.
- In WordPress, open Geeky Bot → License.
- Under Enter your license key, paste the key.
- Select Activate and install.
This can take up to a minute. Geeky Bot activates the licence for this site, downloads Commerce Pro from geekybot.com, checks the download, installs it and switches it on. When it’s done, you see Commerce Pro is active on this site.
If your WordPress account can’t install or activate plugins, the button reads Activate license. Ask a site administrator to open Geeky Bot → License and finish the Install Commerce Pro and Switch it on steps.
You can also download the zip from your geekybot.com account and upload it under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin. Commerce Pro still needs an active licence on this site.
When you activate, and about once a week after that, Geeky Bot sends geekybot.com the licence key, your site address, the WordPress, PHP and Geeky Bot versions, the site language and whether the site is a multisite. geekybot.com answers with a signed statement of what the licence covers. Shopper questions and conversations are never sent.
The License screen
Section titled “The License screen”The Your license card shows the masked key, Plan, Renews or expires, Sites using it and Last checked.
- Check my license again asks geekybot.com for the current status.
- Move license to another site deactivates Commerce Pro on this site, frees the site’s slot and deletes the key from the site. Buying actions stop until you activate a licence again.
If the key is already used on as many sites as it allows, deactivate it on a site you no longer use, from that site’s License screen or your geekybot.com account, then try again.
Updates
Section titled “Updates”While Commerce Pro is installed, Geeky Bot asks geekybot.com twice a day whether a newer version exists. The Updates card shows the Installed and Latest versions and whether Updates included applies to your licence.
- Open Geeky Bot → License.
- Select Check for updates.
- If a new version is listed, select Update to followed by the version number.
Under Automatic update settings you can choose:
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Release channel | Stable or Beta |
| Automatic updates | Manual updates only, Critical security updates only, Patch releases only, Patch and minor releases, All stable releases |
| Always allow critical security auto-updates | Recommended for live stores |
Select Save update settings to keep your choice.
When a licence expires
Section titled “When a licence expires”- Commerce Pro keeps working on a site where it was already activated. A renewal payment on hold keeps it working too.
- Updates, downloads, support and new activations need a renewal. The Updates card shows Renewal needed.
- If geekybot.com can’t be reached, Commerce Pro keeps running on its last confirmed check for up to 30 days. The License screen says so; you don’t need to do anything unless it lasts more than a few days.
