Constants

Geeky Bot reads one constant meant for store owners and developers, GEEKYBOT_TRANSLATIONS_AUTO. Set it in wp-config.php, above the line that says to stop editing. Commerce Pro reads no constants of its own.

Default Not defined, which counts as true
Effect when false Geeky Bot no longer installs or updates its translation by itself
Read by Geeky Bot

On a site that isn’t in English, Geeky Bot downloads the translation for the site’s language from geekybot.com. It does this when it is installed or updated, when the site language changes, and once a day to pick up improved wording. See Languages.

Turn this off when:

  • your server must not make outgoing requests to geekybot.com, or
  • you changed Geeky Bot’s wording in wp-content/languages/plugins/ and don’t want an update to replace it. A newer translation replaces the files there.

To switch automatic translations off:

  1. Open wp-config.php in your site’s root folder.
  2. Add this line above /* That's all, stop editing! */:
define('GEEKYBOT_TRANSLATIONS_AUTO', false);
  1. Save the file.

Geeky Bot → Languages then shows Automatic installation is switched off on this site (GEEKYBOT_TRANSLATIONS_AUTO). Use Install or Update now to install a language. The screen still works: you can install or update a language by hand, or download the .po and .mo files and upload them yourself.

Developers can do the same with the geekybot_translations_auto filter. See Hooks.

Geeky Bot also reads these constants. Each one points the plugin at a test copy of an outside service instead of the real one. They are for testing Geeky Bot itself, not for live stores. Leave them undefined.

Constant What it replaces
GEEKYBOT_TRANSLATIONS_URL The address of the translation list on geekybot.com
GEEKYBOT_LICENSE_SERVER_URL The Commerce Pro licence server on geekybot.com
GEEKYBOT_ZYWRAP_API_URL Zywrap’s API, used to create or connect a Zywrap account
GEEKYBOT_ZYWRAP_APP_URL Zywrap’s website, used for sign-in and top-up links

The address Geeky Bot sends chat answers to when Zywrap is the answer mode isn’t a constant. It is the Zywrap endpoint setting under Geeky Bot → AI & Privacy. See Zywrap.
